Chapter 15 : Budi Bahasa Budaya Kita..?

January 10, 2017

Assalammualaikum.. I bet that the paragraph above ain't something new to some of us.. It is part of the lyric of "Budi Bahasa Budaya Kita" which was sung by our Dato' Siti Nurhaliza.. Back then when the song was part of the major campaign, my school made it as one of the compulsory song for us to sing, with the hope that we would imply the values in our life.. Well, we actually had fun singing this at first, having the feeling that we nailed the song with our toad-like voices.. πŸ˜‚

Alright, before I went off track, allow me to just go straight to the point.. Frankly writing (as i'm not speaking right now) , I feel that the lyric didn't reflects us, the Malaysian anymore.. I would say, the modernization caused us to become part of the scary judgmental community..

Nowadays, all you need to do is to be prepare just in case you get to be in the spotlight.. Sometimes, benda tu tak salah pun but they will just grab anything, find the mistake, and voila! The next thing you know, people are ready to either bash you or compliment you.. I don't mind if people keep spreading that really needs the attention, something important that needs the spotlight..

However, what about those whom doing nothing, and yet they had to receive thousands of hate letters? Quick example, the king coco whom went viral just because she seems like acting to be influent in Malay and just because of that, she went viral, receiving lots of hates just because she can't speak Malay properly.. Seriously, can't you just stop making common people famous for nothing?

Another quick example;

humour and sarcasm are two different thing, do you actually need a dictionary?
I was scrolling the comments to see any positive comments, till I stumbled to this..
You're stealing someone's shared memory and making fun of it.. Does that really entertain you, Dear fame-hunting page? Actually there are lots of other page claiming they're a funny page and they're really funny at first, but slowly, they went to a sarcasm-fun-page..

Dear Malaysian, does bashing people is the fun that you had been seeking? What if your privacy is revealed and the next thing you know, almost everyone had already assembled and pulled you down.. Would you love the drowning feeling? The world is spinning and remember, what goes around comes around.. Hari ni hari orang lain, siapa tau esok hari kau? πŸ€”
Let's just live in a respectful way, shall we? ✌😊

  3. Tbh, I kind of scared with society nowadays. Nak post apa pun kena fikir 10x just in case orang take it the wrong way or find it offensive etc. I pay no mind with viral stuff (except king coco sbb takleh lari, bukak apa pun keluar muka dia hahaha). Anyway I enjoyed your blog so much so I hit the follow button :)

  6. damn, all those names are long. but on a side note, I guess the parents must have their reasons.
but you can't deny that the kids will have it hard when they get older.

speaking from experience, my name is so long that my father's name need to be cut from my passport lol. When I have kids I'll make sure that their name is short.

    1. Well, I believe that they just had unique names with meanings, and yes, it might be harder for the teacher to remember their name but, if their parents' right afterall.. XD

Ok wait, I experience the same thing it's in my case, it's my father's name!! He had three parts so I would always use only the first name or else, it would be hard to fit the column.. Luckily he keep our names short.... xD

  7. Sekarang semua benda nak viral, tapi banyaknya yang viral lebih kepada negativiti instead of positivity. Hope for nothing but a more positive generation.

  11. Sekarang zaman kau buat salah sikit, sure boleh viral. Kadang-kadang benda yang memalukan kot. Kalau bab gaduh2 (video), ada pulak yang rajin ambil video dan sebarkan. Semua nak jadi the first sebarkan cerita walaupun cerita tu memalukan orang lain. Selagi tak kena diri sendiri, camtu lah perangai masing2. Huhu.

Harap mereka berubah dan harap kita tak termasuk dalam benda viral memalukan ini.. huhu. In fact, siqah pernah sekali 'viral' hanya kerana caption siqah di IG πŸ˜” malu gila masa tu. Nak kuar pun segan.. sekarang dah lepas setahun, tak heran dah. Benda viral ni kejap je tapi kesannya kadang2 berterusan. Dalam kes siqah, kesan at that time je..

    1. Kadang pelik tau yang tukang record gaduh2 nie, ape function kau as human kalau tak mendamaikan? -.-

My sister pernah kena jgk siqah.. But in her case, orang tak reti nak baca caption, terus share and hentam based on gambar.. Diorg nie menggambarkan mentaliti org yg tak stabil.. ==

  12. "scary judgemental community" is like the truest way to explain. idk why people can easily do things like that. what made them thing that they have the right to actually do that. honestly speaking (writing, or whatever), the fact they didn't even thought how wrong it is scares me. what have we become?

    1. Ikr.. They felt like our privacy belongs to theirs, I mean, why should they care? We barely and sometimes we don't even know each other but judging like a boss.. =="

  14. I respect others and every now and then i respect them but the way i show respect is different.
I never care if they're fat, thin, straight, bisex, short, tall, black, white, male female so and so, if they're nice to me, I'll be nice to them. Simple as that.

Most of all i respect ideas.

    1. Exactly.. I have the same principle of yours.. In fact I have some good friends whom sort off lgbt and yet, they're the one whom would treat me kindly.. Respect each other and keep a good relationship.. XD

  15. I experienced this kind of thing once actually and I admit it was my fault to begin with but still, the bashing from netizen was too severe, I lose faith in Malaysian 'budi bahasa budaya kita' already :(

The world we're living in is scary as invading someone's privacy is now at the end of our fingertips. We should be careful of what we post in our social media (as we might be bashed from the bad stuff we post) and our action in public (as someone might take photos of our action and viral it in his/her social media).

But above all, let's not be the kind of people who bash people like there's no tomorrow, who are so called keyboard warrior. They're nothing but trash. There, sorry for my comment with angry emotion being involved ;)

    1. Aww..No worries.. I completely understand how you felt... Well sometimes want to argue with them but then, nothing would change so silence would be the best way. And yes, they're trash living in the clean world..

      Delete
    2. I completely agree. Silence is the best action for those people even if we're so eager to reply but better not wasting our time on useless people.

Plus, we should avoid being a center of attention as our reply too might get in the spotlight ;)

  16. sebab tu lah kalau perasan pun, ada doa elak dari fitnah Dajjal bukannya doa elak Dajjal. sebab fitnah dia datang dulu merosakkan manusia. ada benda pelik sikit je jadi viral terus.

bab viral ni memang aida sgt tak setuju.
viral kan la sesuatu yg baik.
sesuatu yg beri manfaat kpd agama, bangsa.
    sesuatu yg permudahkan org lain.
jgn la viral kan sesuatu yg akhirnya nampak menghina, kan?
    aduhai...
